LEARN: Linking Educational Advising Resources and Needs
LEARN, created in 1999, serves as the advisory group to the Office of Student Accessibility and Support Services (SASS) and is committed to the SASS mission of maintaining Kenyon's high academic standards while continuing to expand accessibility for all students regardless of background, learning styles or physical attributes.
LEARN consists of faculty, students, administrators and support staff from many sectors of the College. The LEARN advisory committee meets twice each year. A faculty member and the director of SASS serve as co-chairs. LEARN members act as ambassadors to build awareness regarding universal accessibility and 504/ADA issues on campus. Specifically, LEARN members receive training and support in order to:
Stay informed about current 504/ADA and related Title III issues.
Participate in educational events regarding compliance with the *ADA/ADAAA.
Review SASS policies and procedures.
Educate others on campus about disability-related issues and maintain communication within their representative areas.
