Hello transfer students and welcome to Kenyon! Orientation will be filled with informative sessions and engaging activities aimed at helping you transition to Kenyon and learn what to expect during your college career here. There is a lot to learn about life on our hill, but we have taken steps to make the journey as easy and enjoyable as possible.
Please note that this schedule is TENTATIVE and subject to change. All starred (*) events are mandatory. Printed schedules will be available at key pick-up on Saturday, Aug. 25.

Moving in is tiring business. Take this time to unpack a little or relax. Don’t forget to leave time to get to your meeting with your Orientation Leaders. Residence Halls
After corresponding with them all summer, finally meet the two students that will be your guides and mentors throughout your first semester at Kenyon. They will be going over the Transfer Orientation Schedule, answering your questions, and giving you some time to meet other students in your group. Various Locations

Use this time to unwind after your first day as a Kenyon student. You can spend time in your room unpacking and relaxing. Tip: Start good sleep habits in college early; 7-9 hours of sleep is recommended for healthy brains!

This session is tailor-made for Kenyon’s transfer students to give you the tools you need to successfully transition into a new academic atmosphere and learn how it might be different from your former institution. Attendance will be taken.
Another great Kenyon tradition! Learn the four songs that you will sing at the conclusion of Orientation as well as during senior week before graduation. Rosse Hall
We don’t expect you to know everything before your first day of class so the OLs and CAs have put together this session to give you some of the tips and tricks they have learned along the way! They will show you how to access Moodle, how to make the most of your Google calendar, how to buy books, and more! This event is optional, but encouraged for transfer students. Various Locations

Navigating the waters of wellness can sometimes be tricky. Come listen to faculty, staff, and students give tips to learn how to advocate for yourself and what you need to be successful and healthy. Attendance will be taken. Various Locations
For students who wish to place into Calculus I, II or III, Hayes Hall 109
Tip: Don’t skip meals! It is easy to forego eating to run to class or a meeting, but it is important to eat to keep your energy up. Peirce Hall
During this session you will meet some of the Campus Safety Officers who work tirelessly to keep our community safe and learn how you play a part in that safety. Attendance will be taken. Various locations. Tip: Be sure you have downloaded the RAVE Guardian Alert App.
Tip: Avoid all nighters. While you may feel like you need to study all night to do well you might be doing yourself a disservice. Not getting enough sleep can impair your ability to do well, regardless of how much you've studied, so make sure you get at least a little sleep before your big test. First Year Quad

Meet with your OL and a staff member to discuss what was portrayed in Life on the Hill #4: Diversity. Various Locations
In this session you will meet Samatha Hughes, Civil Rights/Title IX Coordinator, and learn about what it means to take care of each other at Kenyon. You will also get to see a series of skits performed by the Speak About It actors that address issues related to drinking, culture, mental health, sexual assault, and more. The skits will be followed by lunch with the Sexual Misconduct Advisors (SMAs) and your CAs. Rosse Hall

A final tradition to end Orientation, this banquet-style dinner is a Kenyon favorite. Featuring remarks from President Decatur and a keynote speaker, it is the perfect way to end your Orientation experience and get you excited for the first day of class. Attendance will be taken.
