Welcome to Kenyon, Class of 2022 and transfer students! Orientation will be filled with informative sessions and engaging activities aimed at helping you learn what to expect during your college career at Kenyon. There is a lot to learn about life on our hill, but we have taken steps to make the journey as easy and enjoyable as possible.
Transfer students: please refer to this slightly modified orientation schedule. A modified schedule for families is also available.
Please note that this schedule is TENTATIVE and subject to change. All starred (*) events are mandatory. Printed schedules will be available at key pick-up on Saturday, Aug. 25.

After corresponding with them all summer, finally meet the two upperclass students that will be your guides and mentors throughout your first semester at Kenyon. Use this time to unwind after your first day as a Kenyon student. You can spend time in your room unpacking and relaxing. Tip: Start good sleep habits in college early; 7-9 hours of sleep is recommended for healthy brains!

We don’t expect you to know everything before your first day of class so the OLs and CAs have put together this session to give you some of the tips and tricks they have learned along the way! They will show you how to access Moodle, how to make the most of your Google calendar, how to buy books, and more! Attendance will be taken. Various Locations
Living with a roommate who you’ve only known for 24 hours can be tough, so can sharing a bathroom with 25 of your hallmates. This meeting will focus on roommate contracts and hall agreements. Attendance will be taken. Tip: Think about non-negotiables you would like to discuss with your roommate as well as things you would be willing to compromise on to create a comfortable living space. Navigating the waters of independence and wellness can be tricky. Come listen to Student Affairs staff members and students give tips on how to advocate for yourself and what you need to be successful and healthy. Attendance will be taken. Various Locations

Tomorrow is registration day! Your OL will be going over important reminders about building a schedule. Attendance will be taken. Tip: Don’t skip meals! It is easy to forego eating to run to class or a meeting, but it is important to eat to keep your energy up. Peirce Hall
During this session you will meet some of the Campus Safety Officers who work tirelessly to keep our community safe and learn how you play a part in that safety. Attendance will be taken. Various locations. Tip: Be sure you have downloaded the RAVE Guardian Alert App.
Tip: Avoid all nighters. While you may feel like you need to study all night to do well you might be doing yourself a disservice. Not getting enough sleep can impair your ability to do well, regardless of how much you've studied, so make sure you get at least a little sleep before your big test. First Year Quad
Time meet with your advisor one more time to get your alt pin and get ready for course registration. Tip: It is best to have 10-12 classes on your list in case you don’t get into your top choices.

Meet with your OL group to go over what was portrayed in the Stories of Inclusion, Excellence, and Success presentation and reflect on your own experiences. Attendance will be taken. Various Locations
In this session you will meet Samatha Hughes, Civil Rights/Title IX Coordinator, and learn about what it means to take care of each other at Kenyon. You will also get to see a series of skits performed by the Speak About It actors that address issues related to drinking, culture, mental health, sexual assault, and more. The skits will be followed by lunch with the Sexual Misconduct Advisors (SMAs) and your CAs. Rosse Hall
