Leadership is a five-day program designed to give incoming students the chance to learn about the many forms of student leadership and involvement at Kenyon.
Participants will explore the topic of leadership, learn about the many opportunities for campus involvement, and build connections with peers and upperclass leaders. The program will be facilitated by staff from the Office of Student Engagement and student facilitators who are active student leaders at Kenyon.
During Leadership Pre-O, students will develop leadership skills by participating in an outdoor adventure program (a low and high ropes course), experiential leadership team builders and initiatives, and group discussions. Students will discover their strengths and improve their leadership competencies. Topics such as leadership styles, time management, and campus resources will be explored. In addition, students will have the opportunity to meet with student leaders and administrators to hear their stories and discover how they can be active members of the Kenyon community.
The program begins on campus on August 19. The group will leave campus for a two-night stay at a retreat center and then will return to campus to engage in an on-campus leadership experience and prepare for orientation which begins on Saturday, August 25, 2018.
