Faculty Associate Director of Community-Engaged Learning
H. Abbie Erler came to Kenyon in 2005 and is an associate professor of political science. Abbie created and led classes in evaluating "Crunch Out Obesity," a health and fitness program used in elementary classrooms throughout Knox County. Community partners for the project included teachers at Mount Vernon Schools, the Knox County Health Department, the YMCA of Mount Vernon and the United Way of Knox County. The program makes a significant contribution to understanding issues of health and education in Knox County.

A Kenyon alumna and English major, who was born and raised in Knox County, she assists in fostering new and existing partnerships between Kenyon and the surrounding community. Alyssa also focuses on the logistics behind community-engaged learning courses.

Stacy enjoys connecting students with opportunities to volunteer in Knox County, having dedicated two years to full-time community service as a member of AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) with Ohio Farm to School and the Ohio Association of Foodbanks.
