As a collegiate resource, we offer a variety of services including large-format (poster) printing, 3-D printing, large-scale lamination, digitization of text and images, and assistance in designing and completing Digital Humanities projects.
Print large format/posters for a variety of class projects, individual presentations, and more. Maximum 44-inch width plus a reasonable length can be printed on plain paper, photo paper, water-resistant polypropylene, adhesive-backed polypropylene and clear film for windows. Note: class projects will take priority over all other poster orders.
To submit your image/poster, please send a high-quality actual sized PDF to VRC@kenyon.edu. Please indicate if you would prefer to pick up your poster in Tomsich Hall (for orders associated with the Science Division) or the Visual Resources Center in the Gund Gallery (for orders associated with other divisions).
To prepare your image, the following links might be useful:
Type | Price |
---|---|
Plain paper | $0.70/square foot |
Photo paper | $1.55/square foot |
Water-resistant polypropylene (looks like matte finish but durable and nearly waterproof) | $1.70/square foot |
Adhesive-backed polypropylene | $2.20/square foot |
Clear film for windows | $3.50/square foot |
Polyester cloth (folds for travel) | $2.70/square foot |
For multiple posters, you can create more than one poster within a 36" or 44" width by desired length to save costs and paper.
Please use the cost estimator to estimate costs for your poster project(s).
Please allow the Centers two weeks to process your order. Once your poster(s) are printed you will receive an email to pick up your order at the Visual Resources Center in the Gund Gallery, Department of Art History, Room 111 or Tomisch Hall, near room 015. Payment will be collected at this time. You will need to pay with your Student ID or Kenyon College Departments can provide an account number for payment.
PICK-UP TIMES: Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and Tuesday and Thursday: 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Posters for student organizations should be printed through the Office of Student Engagement.
One and two-color 3-D printing using ABS plastic in a range of colors is available. Please submit .stl or .thing files to VRC@kenyon.edu for a price estimate based on projected material used and to discuss the time frame for delivering the final print (most 3-D prints take many hours to complete). Because of the variability of projects, please contact Yan Zhou to discuss the possibility of your project.
The cost is determined by the weight of the total plastic used including scraps at $1.00/gram.
These services are offered free of charge.
Our students will work with you to design flyers, posters, and other graphic works. While not professionals, they can bring a fresh approach to your publicity.
A 3-D scanner is available for use in the Multimedia Center in the Library and we will work with you, if you wish to make your scan using this technology. Find out more at lbis.kenyon.edu/diglab.
The Visual Resource Center may be able to help with Digital Humanities projects. The center will digitize and help produce imagery for the Digital Kenyon site and will help you coordinate with Digital Initiatives Librarian Jenna Nolt. Please contact Visual Resources Curator Yan Zhou to discuss your project.
