Focusing on local food and a low impact, sustainable food chain is an important part of Kenyon's commitment to sustainability that manifests in the College's Farm to Fork partnership with AVI Foodsystems and also a special academic program, Food for Thought.
Farm to Fork
Kenyon has partnered with AVI Foodsystems to create a low impact, sustainable food chain from local farmers to students and back to the Kenyon campus. Find out more about the steps involved.
Food for Thought
Food for Thought is an initiative to explore food, farming, and rural life. The courses in the program represent virtually every aspect of the curriculum and many offer opportunities to engage with the surrounding community. Through the program, students broaden their horizons beyond Gambier and deepen their connection to this place.
Find out more about the Food for Thought program in the academic course catalog, on the Kenyon Rural Life Center website or by contacting Professor Howard Sacks at sacksh@kenyon.edu.
