Kenyon will always endure, and it is always evolving to meet the needs of our students, faculty, and staff. Information on this site keeps the Kenyon community informed and up to date on construction projects that help keep the College at the forefront of higher education. Current initiatives include a number of construction projects in the village of Gambier, the expansion of facilities for the English department and development of a new library and academic quadrangle.
Kenyon has received the largest gift in its history, $75 million from an anonymous donor. This transformational gift will support the development of a new library and academic quad on Kenyon’s historic campus. The new quad, called the West Quad for its location on the west side of campus, will consist of three new buildings: the library and academic commons to replace Olin and Chalmers libraries; a new interdisciplinary academic building for the social sciences; and a new home for the offices of admissions and other key student services. Underground parking in the new quad will improve accessibility as well as reclaim green space.
The Farr Hall project includes the renovated space for the Kenyon Bookstore and the construction of three new Gaskin Avenue retail buildings in the village. Other recently completed village projects include two new buildings behind Farr Hall, each housing eight students in apartment-style living similar to the North Campus Apartments, and a building which provides space for the Village Market and housing for 12 students at the corner of Chase and Brooklyn.
