KEEP Scholars Program
Eric Sutton III '18
International Studies Major, Indianapolis, Indiana
KEEP has allowed me to explore who I am — student-athlete, community volunteer, thespian, international studies major — while being supported every step of the way. KEEP scholars represent different backgrounds, ethnicities, religions and sexual orientations, but after spending six weeks together, our understanding and appreciation of one another transcends all of those boundaries.
Meera White '18
English Major, Atlanta, Georgia
Before I came to Kenyon, I was scared of what to expect. But KEEP quelled those fears by introducing me to friends and amazing mentors, and making me feel comfortable on campus and in class. In a collegiate environment, it can be easy to revert to a comfort zone of people who are similar to you. KEEP helped give me the confidence to embrace the diversity that Kenyon has to offer, which has made my experience here very dynamic.
The Kenyon Educational Enrichment Program (KEEP) is a selective program aimed at underrepresented students of color and first-generation college students. KEEP introduces first-year students to Kenyon before Orientation by offering them an intensive academic experience in the summer and connecting them with supportive peers and mentors. Stipends are provided.
